Eligible females diminishing; School in crisis. During recent years, the percentage of lesbian, bisexual, and ‘bicurious’ females in the average high school has exploded throughout schools all over the US. This recent change has been pinpointed to the start of the 21st century, and has risen dramatically every passing year. In recent years however, the rate has nearly quadrupled. In 1993 the average percentage of lesbians in a high school was 3%, and is now nearly 97.36%. The impending future, if this situation is left unchecked, is catastrophic. But we needn’t even look that far ahead; this epidemic is already having massive consequences, namely, the physical and mental harm caused to young men across the country as a result of the absence of sexual interactions with young women. “The injuries I have sustained due to the lack of eligible, heterosexual girls are unbearable, and the various ointments and aloes for my affected areas are putting a huge fiscal strain on my household. It’s destroying my family. If the current situation gets any worse I don’t know what I’ll do,” said one student of Onteora High School. The massive amounts of testosterone and sexual tension are at record highs and there is no end in sight for this crisis.

Trenchless pipe bursting involves feeding a device into a failing pipeline which fragments the damaged pipe and immediately lays down new piping in its place, leaving only perfect, clean-running lines behind. The project went off without a hitch, and took just about one month from start to finish. Beneath a busy city street in Inverness, Scotland, lay sewers in desperate need of some rehabilitation. Because it was a high-traffic area, trenchless was deemed the only acceptable method; intrusive excavations would mean long delays for traffic, and this was not an option—especially during tourist season. The Scottish Water project team got to work, closing roads every night from 7:30 pm to 7:00 am so that it could be open to businesspeople, local residents, and tourists all day long. The entire project took just two weeks to complete, and kept all involved and affected satisfied by minimizing disruption to their daily lives. The good news: Halifax Water’s 2017 sewer system repair initiative, Underground Overhaul—designed to stop sewage leakage into Halifax Harbor—learned it was eligible for the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund Program, which would foot 75 percent of the bill. The bad news: to receive the funding, the project would need to be completed by March 2018. Because the sewers ran close to shore and mostly through the yards of multi-million dollar residences, project leaders knew trenchless technology was the way to go. Facing many hurdles, and even bringing in special crews from the United States to help, Halifax Water was determined to meet the challenge.

Anyway, when soldering copper tubing it’s not always out in the open away from flammable materials and that presents a problem. At the very least you should always have a fire extinguisher at the ready god forbid thing’s get out of hand. It happened to me one time in my career and it scared the living hell out of me. I was replacing two copper emergency water shut-off valves under a pedestal basin. There was approximately 2″ of copper sticking past the wall and I started with the hot water on the left side. The old valve came off without incident and I quickly soldered the new one on. Lunch time! As I was cleaning up the area for my return I started to hear what sounded like a “crackling noise” and could not pinpoint what was happening. Well, my instincts took over, I put my ear up against the sheetrock wall above the sink and knew instantly that the fiberglass insulation was starting to burn.

Pro Tip: When installing piping, be sure the writing on the pipe faces outward to easily identify the pipe type and size down the road. This will also make future home inspections easier if and when you go to sell the home. To create an air- and water-tight seal, PVC cement works by basically melting the top plastic layer on pipes and fittings so they merge as one. As mentioned, once you’ve applied the cement, you have to work fast. Push the pipe into the fitting until it hits the bottom of the fitting hub. Twist back-and-forth to spread the solvent evenly, and if you’ve made your marks be sure to align them. Then, hold the pieces together for 30-60 seconds to ensure a solid bond. Wipe away excess cement with a wet rag. Pro Tip: Vapors from primers and solvents can have fast-acting effects, such as light-headedness and throat irritation, or could damage your eyes. To avoid any negative effects, be sure your have proper ventilation or wear a valved respirator mask .

However, they are quickly gaining popularity among homeowners, who love the device’s numerous advantages over the traditional storage water heaters. Lets take a look at the pros and cons of switching to a tankless hot water Gordontheplumber.com Wood Dale Illinois Dupage County heater. The concept behind a tankless hot water heater is simple: it warms up the water and delivers it to you, just when you need it. Hence, the name: on-demand. Unlike, in a storage water heater, where water sits around and needs to be periodically reheated to be ready for use, a tankless device does not store any water. Instead, when needed, the water comes in, gets heated and is delivered into the piping system that brings it to the appliances being used: shower, faucet, washer, dishwasher, etc. Because a tankless gas heater does not constantly warm up water, it can save up to 30% more energy than a gas storage heater. Advantages of a Tankless Hot Water Heater Here are the main advantages of a tankless device. Keep in mind that depending on your particular household size and water usage, you may realize all or only a few of the heater’s benefits. No Cold Showers: because the water is heated up as you need it, there’s no running out and no chilly showers.

There’s a pretty good chance if you found evidence of a leak (and it hasn’t been fixed ), that water will travel that way again. One trick to help find where the drips are dropping from calls for a paper towel or paper bag. This is a useful trick in rental homes, especially when you’ve just moved in (since a leak may have been fixed, but the cleanup job may not have been too great). Grab a paper towel, a paper bag, or even a newspaper and put it under where you suspect dripping. If a drip falls, it will leave a spot, which should help you find where the drip originated. You can also try making an ink grid on the paper using some sort of non-permanent marker to make any drips more obvious. If there are supply lines or appliances around the suspect area, check them carefully for rips or splits, unattached hoses , or anything else that looks like it could cause a leak. If all looks right, turn on the water (or water-using appliance), making sure you can turn if off again quickly just in case. Check for leaks (you may need to wait a few minutes), and turn everything back off.

1. Frequent problems that require repairs Tank-style electric and gas water heaters can experience the following problems: -Water leaks (if the tank itself is leaking, its a sure sign that it has corroded as a result of old age and needs to be replaced) -Water is there, but its not hot enough/there are frequent temperature fluctuations While each of these problems does not indicate on its own that its time to get a new heater (in fact most can be fixed), if you start experiencing issues frequently, its a very telling sign that the device is old and needs to be replaced. Moreover, if you find that your repair bills start to add up, it may be a smart financial decision to replace the heater, rather than continue dumping money into repairs. If you know the age of your water heater, and its nearing the end of its service life, you may want to consider replacing it, BEFORE it starts giving you major trouble . It often happens that a heater works perfectly well, and just before due to expire, it gives a major leak, which is more like a flood. If this happens, you may encounter costly repairs from water damage, in addition to the cost of replacing the device itself. 3. Rusty color water coming out of faucet/shower If there is rusty color water coming out, when you turn on hot water, it may be a sign that your heater has started to rust from the inside due to old age. To make sure that this is the case is to drain your hot water heater. If by the third bucket, the water is still coming out rusty, its most likely the heater’s problem. If the water starts to get clear, it means that the heater itself is functional, but the piping is rusty.

The materials are relatively inexpensive and you can get by with basic hand tools and a miter saw—either manual or powered. The biggest challenge? Figuring out the best and most attractive way to butt chair rail moldings into existing window and door trim—especially if that trim is thin. Most electrical boxes in your home are nailed to the wall studs or ceiling joists before the drywall is hung. But what do you do if you want to mount a box in a finished wall? Or in a place where no stud or joist is located? Use a remodeling, or "old work," box. Remodeling boxes can be metal or plastic. Most mount to the drywall using some sort of mechanism that pinches the box between the flanges on the front and ears that flip down or expand on the back. One of the most common mistakes made in mounting a remodeling box is cutting the hole too large ; an oversized hole doesn't give the flanges or ears anything to "pinch" against.

Like the one kept in place by a shut off valve under your sink or behind the toilet? Don’t worry, it’s the same idea, just with a few more steps. Most often, if there’s a shut off valve in the way, you’ll need to remove the valve to get the escutcheon off. This is pretty easy, but takes a few minutes of planning. First, shut off water to your house and drain the water out of the lines (in other words, turn on a few faucets until they run dry). Second, double check and make sure you have towels, a dish pan, or something else to catch any water that may come out of the line, just in case. Third, remove the valve in front of the decorative escutcheon. This is where it gets a little trickier. A threaded-on shutoff Gordontheplumber.com Bartlett Illinois 60103 valve can usually be removed fairly easily with a pair of pliers and a good twist or two. Just make sure to use a soft cloth to keep the pliers from tearing up the valve and making it ugly too! A soldered -on shutoff valve might cause more of a problem, depending on your level of plumbing experience.

State Water Heater so called Warranty is a joke Purchased a State Select Water Heater. I contacted the Select State company because it wouldn't work. They wouldn't even help me to troubleshoot it. The water heater was purchased in April 2015. They gave me all kinds of excuses when it came to the warranty. They wanted pictures of where the water heater was being stored because they said it could not be inside the house in any bedroom or bathroom. I sent them pictures of it being outside and its own compartment unit. Then they said that it did not meet their National Fuel and gas code of where it was being stored. Needless to say I will never purchase another State select water heater again and I will definitely make sure my family doesn't either.

9 Topics You Should Know Regarding Plumbing

We made the decision to brand the two trades differently because the consumer focus groups we commissioned early on suggest that most consumers have their plumbing company and their HVAC company. They believe that no one can be an expert at both, and I happen to agree. Q: What is your ultimate goal for Goettl Air Conditioning and The Sunny Plumber? Are you ever concerned that your company might get too big? A: Our ultimate goal is to bring our brand, our unique customer-centric culture and processes across the nation and become the gold standard for home service in the U.S. With regards to being concerned about growing too big, our decentralized model puts the local management on the frontline with our customers, as most of our smaller competitors are structured. To a customer in any market we serve, the relationship is transparent, as they will be dealing with a local crew making swift decisions on their behalf. As we grow, our mantra will become: “Be national, act local.” Q: What do you believe is most important for you to instill in your employees to ensure your company’s continued growth and success? A: First, an unwavering commitment to making the customer happy and doing whatever it takes to make that happen. Clogs can lead to sewage backing up and overflowing.  If the trap arm goes down at more than a 45 degree angle prior to reaching the vent, it is called an S-trap (because it forms an S shape) and it can cause the water to be siphoned out of the trap which means sewer gases can make their way back up into the house. This can cause people to become ill and can even lead to death in extreme cases. Note: Some older homes have S-traps as they used to be allowed, but they are prohibited by current plumbing code. However, many hardware stores still carry S-trap kits. If someone at your local hardware store tries to sell you one, please politely decline. An inspector will not approve of an S-trap. If you currently have an S-trap in your home and are having problems with sewer gases or slow drainage, you might want to consider having your plumbing updated to fit current codes. I will explain more about the system and how it works in other posts. TL:DR?
